The former German national team player Mesut Ozil was also fired from Fenerbahce, Turkish media reports.
The 33-year-old Özil has not played for Fenerbahçe since March 20, as he was kicked out of the team because of an argument with then-coach Ismail Kartal.
He did not manage to fight for the first team status during the entire period in Fenerbahce, so it was best for both sides to agree on a separation.
Özil played 36 games for Fener, scored 9 goals and provided three assists. Before the club from Istanbul, he also played for Arsenal, Schalke, Real and Werder.
The media in Turkey write that Ozil is likely to continue his career in Basheksehir, the club that has the support of the first man of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
