The first part of the preparations they have to do in Miami, USA, the Barcelona players will have to do without coach Xavi.
Namely, Xavi could not travel with the team to the USA due to administrative problems. Xavi has been to Iran three times during his time as a player for Qatar’s Al Sadd and therefore needs special permission to be allowed on American soil.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the administrative issue will be resolved and the Catalan coach is set to join the team’s pre-season tour in Miami in the coming days.
Xavi’s last game as a football player with Al Sadd was in Tehran. The management of Barcelona learned only on Friday afternoon that the coach does not meet all the requirements for an entry visa to the USA and will be able to resolve the case only on Monday.
On July 19, Barcelona will play against Inter Miami in Florida. This is followed by matches with Real Madrid in Las Vegas on July 23, Juventus in Dallas on July 26 and New York Red Bulls in New Jersey on July 30.
