Paris Saint-Germain thought the arrival of Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum would be a capital investment at the Parc des Princes.
Wijnaldum played the football of his life at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s team winning the Champions League and the Premier League, and after five successful seasons in the red shirt, he came to the “City of Light” last year.
After the season spent at PSG, it will turn out that Wijnaldum made a big mistake in his career. He fell into the background of coach Pochettino and mostly sat on the bench last season.
Pochettino left Paris this summer, replacing Christophe Galtier on the bench, but the status of the 31-year-old Wijnaldum has not changed, so the best option for both parties is to leave Paris.
Italian media reports that Wijnaldum has been offered to Roma and Milan, so he should be expected in Calcio next season.
Mourinho would like to pair Wijnaldum with Nemanja Matic in midfield, while Milan are on the lookout for a midfielder to replace Franco Kesi’s departure to Barca.
A more realistic option than buying is Wijnaldum’s loan, and Roma and Milan want to pay only half of his PSG salary, which amounts to an incredible 9,000,000 euros per year.
