After securing the services of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Barcelona are very close to landing another reinforcement. The Catalan club has given coach Xavi so far Christensen (defense), Kessie (midfield) and Raphinha and Lewandowski (attack).
The next target is Cesar Azpilicueta, who is looking to return to Spain after 12 years at Marseille (two seasons) and Chelsea (10 seasons).
The captain has one more year of contract with the English club, which wants to benefit about 8 million euros from his sale. However, Barcelona, who have long been in agreement with the 32-year-old, believe that they will find the final agreement for a lower amount.
Xavi prefers Azpilicueta for his great experience, leadership skills and the fact that he can play in any position in the back, although his natural role is that of right back.
