Cristiano Ronaldo’s future – This is where Georgina wants to be

Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez, wants the Portuguese to return to Spain, according to the media.

The Manchester United star has asked to leave Old Trafford this summer and did not take part in the team’s tour of Thailand and Australia.

The 37-year-old wants to leave the Red Devils and go to a better team to fight for trophies in the last phase of his career. According to the Spanish Diario Sport, however, there seem to be other reasons as well.

It seems Georgina is keen to return to Spain, with Madrid at the top of her list. Georgina and Cristiano met in the Spanish capital in 2016 when the striker was playing for Real Madrid.

But CR7 could return to Madrid to wear the shirt of rivals Atletico. Coach Diego Simeone is interested in bringing the player back to La Liga.

Simeone believes Ronaldo can have the same effect as Luis Suarez, with the Uruguayan leading the Colchoneros to the title in his first season at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Ronaldo’s high salary could be a deterrent, but Atletico could afford the big spend by selling some of the squad’s players.

United have publicly said Ronaldo is not for sale, with manager Erik ten Hag saying Cristiano is in his plans.

Cristiano and Georgina left Madrid in 2018, starting a new life in Turin when Ronaldo moved to Juventus.

After three years in Serie A, Ronaldo returned to United, where he played long before he met Georgina. The Portuguese is desperate to play in the Champions League next season.

He is the competition’s top scorer with 140 and is determined to keep Lionel Messi at bay. The Argentine, 35 years old, has scored 125 goals in the competition.
