Spanish media reported last night that Gilles Cunde is about to sign for Barcelona.
The defender was on the verge of a move to Chelsea a few days ago as Sevilla accepted the London club’s offer, but Kunde put an end to that when Barcelona came calling.
Kunde is a great desire of Xavi Hernandez and it is clear that he will be a great reinforcement in the defense of the Catalan club.
The defender of Sevilla has allegedly already agreed on everything with Barcelona, and yesterday, as Gerard Romero announced, the clubs found a common language regarding the amount of the compensation.
Romero announced last night that a key factor in the negotiations was Xavi, who directly contacted Kunde and explained to him that he wanted to have him in his team next season.
Even a reputable Spanish journalist revealed the alleged message Xavi sent to the Sevilla defender, after which he refused to go to Chelsea and decided to accept Barcelona’s offer.
“I will make you the best stopper in the world in the game with the ball at your feet.” With you in the team, Barcelona will once again become the best club in the world,” Xavi allegedly wrote to Kunde.
