Frenkie de Jong was at the center of attention in the summer market due to the great interest of Man United. The Dutchman was linked with a move to Old Trafford until the transfer window closed and an agreement between the clubs was reached, but it was De Jong’s own wish to stay at Barcelona.

Man United were prepared to spend £65m to fulfill manager Erik Ten Hag’s wish, however an agreement was never reached and now De Jong himself has returned to talk about the summer transfer window.

“I always wanted to stay at Barcelona and that’s why I always stayed calm during the summer market. I can’t give too many details. But look, the club has its own ideas and I also have mine and sometimes there are clashes with each other. But at the end of the day, things went well,” said De Jong.
