Liverpool footballer Roberto Firmino said that he enters the next season with great motivation because he wants to return to the Brazilian national team.

Firmino, 31, did not play for Brazil at the World Cup as then manager Tite decided to leave the Liverpool man out of the squad for Qatar.

Firmino admitted that he was shocked by the decision not to play at the World Cup, as he has played 21 games so far this season and scored nine goals.

“Of course it’s frustrating when you don’t get an invitation to the World Cup, but as I said before, it’s part of God’s plan and I’m following that plan. It really motivates me even more and I will work hard to return to the national team,” said Firmino.

For Brazil, Robeto played 55 games and scored 17 goals.
