Former Croatia ace Igor Stimac believes that Argentina’s title is not clean in Qatar and that FIFA had a role in it all.
According to his words, the title of Argentina is not deserved, because FIFA significantly helped them to reach that achievement.
“After the first round I was worried, but as the tournament progressed, there were attractive duels, a lot of goals and players who marked the tournament. It was really tense and we saw a lot of quality football until the last moment. I followed Argentina a lot before the WC, I knew their strength, France was a permanent favorite for me, they were the strongest. Morocco impressed me, precisely because they were supposed to be an outsider, I put them in that “dark horse” group and in the end they surprised.”
“The title was won by Argentina, but this title has its own stain on it. Unfortunately FIFA helped them. For me, that is a bigger problem than the entire FIFA organization in Qatar. Regardless of the fact that Messi played well, there is a bitterness in my mouth that does not leave me at peace. No one played football like Maradona, kudos to Messi, but Diego was stronger. He could do everything by himself, he could make weaker teams better, for me he is number 1”, says Igor Shtimac.
