A football player from Martinique and his partner were recently arrested at Roissy airport with more than 100 kilograms of cocaine hidden in suitcases, writes Le Parisien.
It is about a midfielder from the club Aiglon du Lamentin, Jean-Manuel Nedra (29).
The couple was brought before an investigative judge on Wednesday, the prosecutor’s office said. The football player was placed in pre-trial detention, and his passenger was released under judicial supervision.
“Without knowing the extent of his involvement, we have learned that one of our players has been arrested in Roissy for drug smuggling,” the Aiglon du Lamentin club said in a short message to the local press.
By the way, Martinique is a country, or rather a French overseas region.
