Benjamin Pavard has been wanted for a long time by Barcelona, but without being able to finalize his transfer.
The French right-back was considering leaving Bayern Munich, but the arrival of Thomas Tuchel has changed everything.
Pavard is now playing regularly in the center of defense and Munich are determined to keep him.
Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzit has confirmed that they are in talks with the player and his agents over a new contract after the current one expires in the summer of 2024.
“We would like to keep Benjamin Pavard. We are currently in talks with him and his agent to extend his contract for a few more years”, declared the sporting director of the Bavarians.
Thus, Spanish giants Barcelona have to change their defensive target, as Pavard was the first choice for the right wing of the defense.
This season, the 27-year-old played 41 official matches with the Bavarians, where he scored seven goals and provided one assist.
