Thiago Silva will remain at Chelsea despite recent rumors of a possible departure.
In recent days there has been talk of a possible return of him to Brazil to his former Fluminense team.
But it was the Brazilian centre-back who denied these rumours, saying that he is happy at Chelsea and that he will not leave.
The 38-year-old has a contract with the English giant until the summer of 2024.
“There is nothing between me and Fluminense now. I have extended my contract because I want to stay at Chelsea,” said Silva.
“I even told my wife that I don’t know anything about these rumors about a meeting with the board of Fluminense. I have always respected my contracts,” Thiago Silva told ESPN.
The Brazilian central defender has been part of the Londoners for three years, when he joined them in the summer of 2020 from PSG as a free agent.
This season, the Brazilian has played 33 games in all competitions with Chelsea, where he also has two assists.
