The Germany international was linked with a move away from the Etihad in the summer, with the Spanish giants leading the race for his signature.

Gundogan, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has shown no interest in signing a contract extension that has reportedly been offered to him.

However, it now appears the midfielder has reconsidered his options and is open to penning a new long-term deal at the Etihad.

According to The Times, Gundogan has been offered a two-year deal with the option of a further year by Barcelona ahead of his expected free transfer in the summer.

However, the German is now favoring an extension at City and the club are willing to offer him a longer deal than the one-year deal they had previously suggested.

Gundogan has played 48 times in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals – four of which have come in recent weeks, with two decisive braces in a 3-0 win against Everton and a 2-1 win against Leeds.
