Chelsea will activate Ugarte’s release clause

Chelsea plans to defeat Paris Saint-Germain’s competition for the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s player, Manuel Ugarte.

According to journalist Bruno Andrade, the Blues have informed the Portuguese club that they are ready to activate the clause in the midfielder’s contract by paying €60 million for his signature.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive season with the Primeira Liga team, making 57 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea is seriously interested in Lionel Messi as well.

He has attracted the interest of clubs like Chelsea, PSG, and Liverpool, who have entered into a competition for his services.

The decision to choose belongs to Ugarte, but Correio da Manha reports that the London team can pay his release clause and offer him a five-year contract.
