Inter are eyeing Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez as they look to replace Milan Skriniar, who will join Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season.

The 33-year-old, who has spent his entire career at Los Blancos, is out of contract in the summer and is said to be set to leave the Spanish capital after a spell spanning more than two decades, having joined the club’s academy in 2001.

Nacho also has a good amount of experience, having made 318 appearances in all competitions in his career, as well as having three La Liga titles, five Champions League medals and two Copa del Rey trophies.

The Spanish international is capable of playing on both sides of a back four, but also as a centre-back, while he has previously been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma. During the last few days, there has also been interest from Villarreal.

According to Marca newspaper, Inter have been in contact with Nacho’s circle to offer a three-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2026.

However, Marca also detail that there is still a chance for Nacho to extend his contract with Madrid and that, along with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, his future will be assessed over the next week.

Inter also have a busy period ahead, with any major business to be completed after the Champions League final against Manchester City on June 10.
