Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement with Barcelona for Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Blaugrana have been keen to sell this summer, and with Kessie unlikely to occupy a key role in Xavi Hernandez’s midfield, he was seen as a player who could be sold.
Meanwhile, Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri is reported to be a fan of Kessie and the two have been linked for some time.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona and Juventus have agreed a loan deal for Kessie this season, with a mandatory purchase option for next season.
They continue to point out that Kessie has yet to agree with Juventus, who will speak to him in the coming days about personal terms.
The buy-out clause is expected to be between €10-15 million for Kessie, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer last summer from Milan.
While this is certainly a healthy and quick profit, Kessie is likely worth more in the eyes of many, but in light of Barcelona’s desperate finances, their negotiating position is not the strongest.
Xavi currently has Ilkay Gundogan, Pedri, Oriol Romeu, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong as midfield options, but if he decides to stick with his four-man system, it could leave the Blaugrana in need of another recruit.
