Chelsea reach an agreement with Monaco for the transfer of Disasi

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Monaco to sign centre-back Axel Disasi, reports David Ornstein at the Athletic.

The Blues will pay 45 million euros to the Principality team for the 25-year-old defender.

The Frenchman made 38 league appearances for Monaco last season, scoring three times and providing the same number of assists.

His main points are his physicality and excellent long-range passing, making Chelsea sign him precisely for these qualities.

The right-back will be a squad option for the Blues as they look to replace Wesley Fofana.

The French defender suffered a serious injury that will keep him out of action for at least half a year.
