Real Madrid finally have a specific date in mind for the full opening of their renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Los Blancos played during most of the pandemic at their Alfredo di Stefano training stadium. Since then, they have returned to the Bernabeu, where they have played for some time with the stadium still under construction and construction work continues.

However, Diario AS have said that some of the fan clubs have been informed of the set end date. This date has been delayed on several occasions and it was originally thought that the Bernabeu would be ready last December, but the new date is December 23, 2023.

That means the Bernabeu will host another 11 games in its altered state before the grand opening. The first match at the completed Bernabeu would be against Real Mallorca, currently scheduled for January 3.

According to AS daily, they will be happy that the completed Bernabeu will be able to host some big games in La Liga next season, with their home games against Athletic Club, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona all will come in the second half of the season.

Work on the new Bernabeu started in July 2019 and if the current date is confirmed then it will take three and a half years to complete the ground. Real Madrid anticipates that the new facilities will enable them to dramatically increase their revenue.
