Cancelo surpasses Araujo and Pedri in terms of salary

João Cancelo will earn six million euros net at Barcelona if the transfer is completed, reports Gerard Romero.

The Portuguese would be 6th on Barça’s list of highest-paid players – following Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Ilkay Gündogan, Ansu Fati, and Jules Koundé.

Cancelo’s salary would be similar to that of Raphinha.

Earlier, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Catalan club had reached an agreement with João Cancelo for his move during the summer. The right-back is likely to arrive on loan until the end of the season.

The Blaugrana side has not yet agreed on the transfer with Manchester City.

On Tuesday, Xavi publicly revealed the need to bring in a right-back after Ousmane Dembélé’s departure. The coach apparently doesn’t believe the Frenchman can be replaced, so he would prefer to sign an attacking fullback to compensate for the loss.

Last season, João Cancelo was loaned to Bayern Munich, but the German club did not complete his transfer due to the player’s problematic personality, sometimes disregarding the coach’s orders.
