Arsenal are looking to add a Barcelona star to their already well-stocked squad in a big message to their title rivals Manchester City.
The Gunners won the Community Shield against the Citizens at the weekend on penalties, finally breaking the ice against Pep Guardiola three years after they last beat him.
The Spanish newspaper Sport has pointed out that Arsenal have made a very tempting offer for Barcelona star Ansu Fati.
The proposal has been rejected by both the player and the club, who want the youngster to continue at the Blaugrana this season – but the saga could yet continue.
AS noted in June that despite Fati wanting to stay at Barca, the reigning Spanish champions were willing to sell him.
If a particularly valuable offer comes along, it’s likely that Barcelona will at least try to tempt Fati out of the club.
Fati is valued at 35 million euros by Transfermarkt.
