The legend Javier Zanetti in an interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport has said that he is disappointed by the behavior of Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian striker spent last season at Inter on loan from Chelsea, but due to injuries he could not get in shape and seriously help the club.
Relations between Lukaku and Inter collapsed when it was revealed that Lukaku had received offers from other clubs, even though Inter had hoped to sign him from Chelsea.
“Given what Inter gave him, we expected him to behave differently, as a professional and as a man. He has the right to go wherever he wants, but he could have told us earlier.”
“No one is bigger than the club. When you build a team, you have to think about who you’re going to bring into the dressing room,” said Zanetti, who is currently Inter’s vice president.
We remember that Lukaku is under contract with Chelsea until 2026, but the English club does not want him, so the Belgian star is looking for a new midfielder.
Although he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 37 appearances last season, it is a far cry from the 2020/21 season when he led Inter to the Italian title with 30 goals and 10 assists.
