Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has warned Andre Onanan not to show how good he is because the world already knows about his qualities.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper conceded a goal from midfield in the friendly against Lens, receiving heavy criticism for his careless outings.
“Manchester United is a big club. Bigger than Ajax, bigger than Inter. Understand this quickly”, Schmeichel addressed the new goalkeeper of the Red Devils.
“Whatever you do will reverberate all over the world. Instantly. This does not happen when you play for Inter”.
“I think he was very, very good for Inter last season. He came to Inter and removed Samir Handanovic from the team, he left the captain out of the team. And I think he was important in the way they ended up in the Champions League final.”
“So basically, keep doing it, but understand where you are now. That’s why you’re there. Don’t go showing the world how good you are because we already know that,” the United legend added.
Onana is expected to make his United debut when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on Monday.
