Jose Mourinho’s Roma have reportedly made contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing striker Armando Broja.

Roma are looking for a new striker and could turn to Mourinho’s former club Chelsea for help.

According to the Sky Sport medium, the Serie A team has contacted Chelsea for the signing of the Albanian striker, Broja, on loan.

However, it is understood that Chelsea are not interested in letting the 21-year-old leave temporarily.

Broja is also wanted by Milan, although the Italian giants are also only interested in a loan deal.

Roma have been forced to look for a new striker thanks to the serious injury suffered by Tammy Abraham in the last game of last season.

The English striker is unlikely to return before the new year, leaving Andrea Belotti as Mourinho’s only attacking option.

Following Christopher Nkunku’s injury, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be keen for Broja to battle summer signing Nicolas Jackson for the starting number nine role at Stamford Bridge.

If Chelsea remain steadfast, then Roma are likely to redouble their efforts to sign Duvan Zapata from Atalanta.
