Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are in a race, not for the title at the moment, but for the transfer of a defender.
The two German giants have on their wish list the talented defender Armel Bella Kotchap who played last season in England with Southampton.
The 21-year-old German has had very good performances in his first year in England, but has asked to leave the club after Southampton’s relegation to the Championship.
Sky Sport has reported that Bayern and Dortmund have had talks with the footballer’s agents, until they are expected to send their official offers to the English club.
Southampton had transferred the German talent for 11 million euros from Bochum, while now they are asking about 25 million to let him go.
Bayern seems to be the favorite to transfer the talented German, as Benjamin Pavard is expected to leave and the Bavarians will immediately spend the money earned from his sale on the purchase of Bella Kotchap.
Other teams such as RB Leipzig, Monaco, Lyon and West Ham United have expressed interest in the 21-year-old, but his future lies between Bayern and Dortmund.
