Kevin De Bruyne gave a measured answer when asked if he would rather play with Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
De Bruyne is one of the greatest players of his generation and the Manchester City midfielder gave a simple explanation as to why he would benefit more from linking up with Ronaldo, feeling that Messi would operate in a similar space. with him as an “organizer”.
The Belgium international has faced the players at club level and on the international stage and said he would prefer to play with the former Real Madrid superstar because he is more of a ‘typical striker’.
“I would probably say Ronaldo because he is more of a typical striker,” De Bruyne said initially.
“Messi is still more of a playmaker. I’m a playmaker, you have to give me a striker”, concluded the Belgian.
De Bruyne thrives as a center point assist and caused havoc playing alongside Erling Haaland, who scored an incredible 52 goals in his debut season at Manchester City.
