Richarlison left one of the most striking images of the international fixtures as he broke down in tears after being substituted in the match between Brazil and Peru.
After the match ended, the Brazilian footballer admitted that he needs “psychological help” and that he will now seek it after his return to Tottenham.
All caused by the problems he has outside his football life, more on a personal level.
Richarlison, who since moving to Spurs has been accused of a lack of goals and has played far from his best. However, the real problem is something else.
“I’ve had a turbulent time in the last five months on the sidelines. Now things are fine at home,” Richarlison explained to Globo, where he added that “the people who had their eye on me just for the money left.”
Although the tearful images are shocking, Richarlison clarified that “things are starting to flow now. I’m sure I’ll have a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.”
“The moment of sadness was not because I played badly. It was more of an explosion because of things that were happening off the field, which got out of hand.”
“I will return to England, I will seek help from a psychologist and I will come back stronger”, concluded the Brazilian striker.
