Julian Nagelsmann remains the main candidate to take over the leadership of Germany

Following the sacking of coach Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly leading the race to take the Germany bench.

This meant that he would lead “Die Mannschaft” to EURO 2024 which will be held on German soil next summer.

The decision to make changes to the coaching staff came after Germany’s humiliating 4-1 home defeat to Japan, which saw Hansi Flick sacked.

However, the selector’s position did not remain vacant as the leaders of the German Federation quickly reacted and appointed the famous former striker Rudi Voller as temporary coach, who counts about 90 appearances with the German shirt, where he managed to score a total of 47 goals.

The 63-year-old achieved his first triumph as Germany coach on Tuesday after beating France 2-1.

On the other hand, Julian Nagelsmann is currently unemployed since he was sacked by Bayern Munich on March 24 of this year due to poor results in the Bundesliga.
