“Once Real Betis contacted me it was easy to decide” – Isco reveals why he signed with the Spanish club after nine years with Real Madrid

The former midfielder of Real Madrid, Isco has said that it was a very easy decision to join Real Betis in the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old joined the Spanish side as a free agent in July, a few months after he was released by Sevilla. The midfielder said it did not take him long to think about the offer, before reuniting with Manuel Pellegrini, who he worked with during his time at Malaga.

“As soon as Betis contacted me it was very easy to decide. From the outside you can see that it is a big club, with a very serious sports project and with a great desire to win trophies”.

“Moreover, they apply attractive football that I think fits what I’m looking for, and also a coach with whom I’ve worked before and knows my situation best,” Isco said.

The Spanish representative has started the season strongly, starting in the first four games in La Liga where he scored one goal.

Isco hopes he will return to his best form since his golden days at Real Madrid, with whom he won the Champions League five times and the league title three times during his nine seasons in the Spanish capital.
