Ramos broke the two records of Raul Gonzalez in La Liga and the Champions League

Sergio Ramos has started the season with another broken record after his second debut at Sevilla.

The experienced defender agreed a free transfer to Andalusia this summer following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.

After receiving offers from clubs in the US and Saudi Arabia, Ramos was tempted by a chance to return home and have one last dance to compete in the Champions League again.

Injuries hampered Ramos in his early days back at Sevilla before he returned to La Liga in a 1-0 win over Las Palmas and kept his place for the 1-1 Champions League draw with Lens.

His performance against Lens saw him overtake former Real Madrid team-mate Raul Gonzalez as the most capped Spanish player in the Champions League with 138 starts.

However, according to data compiled by Cadena SER, Ramos also moved ahead of Raul in Las Palmas’ win, with the centre-back now racking up the most minutes in La Liga history, with 44,076.
