Chelsea have set their sights on a move for Ivan Toney in the January transfer window, with the London Blues confident of striking a deal despite heavy interest from other clubs.
Brentford has set a price of 60 million euros for the Englishman, while Chelsea seems to be the only club that can meet their demands.
The London club have seen the need to sign another striker, despite the fact that they signed Nicolas Jackson in the summer transfer window.
Toney is currently suspended for eight months, due to allegations of involvement in betting.
Mauricio Pochettino is believed to have personally requested the Englishman’s transfer, and for that reason Chelsea have intensified their efforts to make this signing happen.
Chelsea has not started the new season in the best possible way, as after five rounds played in the Premier League they have two defeats, two draws and one victory.
Chelsea will host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in the next round, with the “London Blues” aiming to return to positive results.
