Chelsea are optimistic that they will finally be able to remove Romelu Lukaku from their ranks once and for all.

The Belgian has had a good start to his career at Roma, scoring three goals in four starts under Jose Mourinho. Chelsea’s deal with the Italian club does not include an option or an obligation to buy.

However, such an agreement also leaves room for maneuver if there are new negotiations between the parties in the future.

Lukaku’s release clause is somewhere in the region of 38 million euros.

Neither Chelsea nor Lukaku are of the opinion to work together again in the future. The hope of the leaders of the London club is that Lukaku will continue his good form in Serie A so that they can benefit more.

The 30-year-old previously played in the Belgian championship for Anderlecht, while in England, in addition to Chelsea, he also played for West Brom, Everton and Manchester United.
