Another football legend is expected to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr. It is about the famous ex-football player, Alessandro Del Piero, who can take the post of sports director at the Arab club.
The legendary former Juventus striker, who tasted World Cup glory with Italy in 2006, is said to have flown to Riyadh for talks, with the 48-year-old ready to take on a new challenge.
There had been much speculation about a return for Del Piero to Juventus as they look to find places on the board for the former fan favourites, but Calciomercato report that the Bianconeri icon is prepared to listen to Al-Nassr’s proposal.
Del Piero has stayed away from football since he retired in 2015. He has worked as a pundit and commentator since then, but has moved away from the day-to-day life behind the scenes at any club. That situation could change now, with Saudi Arabia as the likely destination.
Al-Nassr have drawn up an ambitious plan in recent months, with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo joined by the likes of Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana and Sadio Mane.
Del Piero could be the next to join the cause, with the Italian also working towards his UEFA Pro licence.
