Kounde and Yamal join the list of injured in Barcelona, one of which misses El Clasico

Barcelona’s injury crisis is deepening by the day, with duo Jules Kounde and Lamine Yamal the latest to join the list of injured players.

Kounde picked up a knee injury in Barcelona’s 2-2 draw with Granada on Sunday night. The injury is expected to keep him out for at least a month, causing him to miss El Clasico on October 28.

The blow that Yamal received does not appear to be anything serious. The teenager has suffered a hip injury but despite this, he will remain in the Spain squad, although he will be assessed by the national team’s medical staff, according to a statement from the Catalan club.

Xavi is now dealing with an extensive injury list with just 19 days left until the clash with Real Madrid.

Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha are all unavailable to the Spanish coach. Pedri is close to returning, but it will take time to catch the rhythm of the game.

Barcelona plays its next match at home against Athletic Bilbao, a challenge that will be played on October 22.
