Bayern Munich are urgently looking for a replacement in the center of defense and one of the main candidates is 35-year-old Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Greek centre-back is currently without a club after leaving Olimpiacos, but he could soon return to the top flight.
All this due to the injury of defender Dayot Upamacano and Bayern is forced to look for quick solutions.
The transfer window doesn’t start until early January, but clubs can bring in players without a contract and Sokratis is one of them.
The experienced Greek arrives at Bayern?
In his career, Sokratis played for AEK, Niki Volos, Genoa, Milan, Werder, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal, while scoring three goals in 90 appearances for Greece.
He would come to Bayern Munich for free because he is currently out of contract.
Bayern previously failed to sign Jerome Boateng, who also tended to come for free. However, due to the dissatisfaction of the fans, that transfer was abandoned.
