Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto could join former teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in MLS next season.
He is likely to end his 17-year relationship with the Catalan giants in the summer of 2024 after his contract with the club expires.
Roberto is being linked with a move to the United States, where he has a chance to follow in the footsteps of former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
The Spain international, who will turn 32 in February, has seen limited minutes under Xavi this season. He has featured in six games in all competitions so far and featured in the club’s starting line-up just twice.
Roberto is fluent in English, which would help him adapt more quickly in the United States of America. It is worth noting that he is a product of Barcelona’s academy and has progressed to the Blaugrana first team through the age groups.
The 31-year-old will be hoping to be in action for his club in La Liga on October 22 when they face Athletic Bilbao.
