Mikel Arteta updates the condition of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba ahead of the Chelsea match

Mikel Arteta has provided the latest information on the Arsenal squad ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge where they will face local rivals Chelsea.

Arteta has faced the press ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League game against Chelsea. After the stunning victory over Manchester City before the international break, the club still had a number of concerns due to numerous injuries.

William Saliba and Leandro Trossard both withdrew from the national team precisely because of injuries.

Saliba has been playing with a toe injury, while Trossard has been dealing with a recurrence of a muscle injury, which has been the main reason the Belgian has missed many games this season.

Bukayo Saka was another player who did not appear in the match against Manchester City. The injury in the Champions League game against Lens was enough to make him miss the game which was valuable for the top of the table.

“Not much,” he said when asked about team news. “We haven’t had many players. We will do our first training session today and we will know more after the session”, said Arteta.

The Spanish technician was asked if Saka wants to play, and for this he said that Saka definitely wants to play his role in the challenge against Chelsea.

In the end, he also had a comment about the condition of the Frenchman William Saliba.

“He has been playing with an injury for a long time, so we have to give him more time to improve”, he concluded.

Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to face Chelsea with a 6.30pm kick-off.

A win would take them to the top of the table, at least until Tottenham play their game against Fulham on Monday evening.
