Liverpool reaches a personal agreement with Osimhen

Liverpool have reached a personal agreement with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, according to respected Napoli journalist Valter De Maggio.

“What happened? There was the involvement of another club, from the Premier League. I’m talking about Liverpool,” said De Maggio on Televomero.

“There would be frequent contacts, but I just learned something else: there is already an agreement reached. Let me be clear: the deal would be between Liverpool and the player, so it would not involve Napoli.

“I hope that the president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, will be able to keep Victor Osimhen at least until June, but we cannot be sure.”

Sources say Liverpool’s interest in the forward is the very reason Osimhen’s camp pulled out of negotiations with Napoli over a new contract.

It is believed that Liverpool are already planning for life without Mohamed Salah in 2024. If the Egyptian leaves, Osimhen remains their main target.

However, Napoli are still insisting on keeping the player with his contract expiring in 2025. Chelsea are also interested in the Nigerian striker who is valued at €120m according to Transfermarkt.

Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games last season to help Napoli win Serie A. He already has six goals in ten games this season.
