He called Vini a clown and said that he deserves a slap, Barcelona broke the silence after the comments to Vinicius Jr

During Real Madrid’s Champions League match with Braga on Tuesday, which they won 2-1, Barcelona director and spokesman Mikel Camps tweeted that Vinicius Junior deserved to be “slapped” after saw him appear during the match in Portugal.

Real Madrid were understandably furious with Camps’ comments, to the point that president Florentino Perez has decided to boycott this weekend’s El Clasico at the Olympic Stadium over the incident.

Barcelona did not comment on Camps’ comments throughout the day on Wednesday, although vice-president Rafa Yuste has now addressed them when speaking to media outlet Cope.

He admitted that the remarks against the Real Madrid star were unacceptable.

“Even if it was a mistake (by Camps), it shouldn’t have been done. It’s an unfortunate tweet. If you are listening to me, Vini, it will not happen again”, said Yuste.

Nothing has yet been said about Camps position at Barcelona, which is likely to become unstable if the club does not act soon. It remains to be seen what their official approach to the situation is.
