Martinez makes peace with Mbappe: The best striker I have played against will win many Ballon d’Ors

Emiliano Martinez at the Ballon d’Or ceremony won the Lev Yashin award as the best goalkeeper in the world.

The Argentine was rated as one of the most deserving in winning the World Cup from Argentina in Qatar 2022.

In an interview after receiving the award as the best, he stopped and talked about Kylian Mbappe and the taunts he had made during the World Cup celebrations.

“Did Kylian Mbappe make you suffer? Yes, there is a reason why he is considered one of the best players in the world. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a person. Of course there are images that have been taken and something that has nothing to do with my personality has been created.”

“Kylian is an example to follow. This guy is amazing and has already won a World Cup with France and scored a hat-trick against me in the final. I think he should be proud, as the French are.”

“Is he the best striker I’ve ever played against? Yes. When Messi and Ronaldo retire, I believe he will take their place and win many Golden Balls,” said the 31-year-old goalkeeper.
