Real Madrid plan to sign Bellingham’s former roommate if they fail to land Mbappe

Real Madrid have chosen who to sign if they cannot sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, when his contract expires.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has been on Los Blancos’ radar for several years, even agreeing personal terms last year before signing a short-term extension with PSG.

Real Madrid have recently denied contacting Mbappe in a new statement.

“Given the information released and published recently by various media, in which there are speculations about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF wishes to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiation has not taken place with a player who belongs to PSG”, wrote Real Madrid in the announcement.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed that Mbappe has not yet made a final decision about his future.

If he decides to stay with the Ligue 1 champions, Real Madrid will turn their attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala.

The Germany international has scored four goals and registered three assists in 12 games this season, forming a partnership with Harry Kane.

He has settled in well under Thomas Tuchel and has become one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting players.

According to Bild newspaper, Bayern want to tie down Musiala to a new contract as they know Real Madrid will invite him if they fail to pursue Mbappe.

What the 14-time European champions have in their arsenal to tempt Musialan is close friend Bellingham.

The pair were roommates at youth international level with England and remain friends to this day.

Musiala sent Bellingham a video message after the 20-year-old won the Kopa trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony last month.

Bellingham joined Real from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for 103 million euros and is already their star.

He has scored 13 goals in 14 games, including a brace in the 2-1 El Clasico win over Barcelona.
