“It is damaging the image of Spanish football”, Florentino Perez hits Barcelona for the “Negreira case”

Ever since news of Barcelona’s previous relationship with Enriquez Negreira broke in February, it’s been a story that has dominated Spanish football. This case has also caused the relationship between the two biggest clubs in Spain to break even further.

When it was reported that Barcelona would be charged by prosecutors in the “Negreira affair”, Real Madrid announced that they would appear as an injured party, which was not well received in Catalonia.

The case is still ongoing, and today (Saturday) during the annual general assembly of Real Madrid, President Florentino Perez addressed the situation, where he decided to ‘hit’ their rival.

“We must respect the justice system. It is not normal for a football club to have paid 8 million euros for 20 years to the Vice President of the Judges’ Committee”.

“They accepted us as injured. It is a case of great gravity and it is damaging the image of Spanish football”, said the president of Real Madrid.

Barcelona have maintained their innocence throughout the case, while Real Madrid will be keeping an eye on the proceedings as they progress.
