Man City have found a ready-made replacement for Pep Guardiola, should the Spaniard decide to leave

Manchester City reportedly have a replacement ready for Pep Guardiola should the Spaniard opt to leave the Etihad.

Guardiola has established himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest managers, guiding City to a historic treble triumph last season.

However, the 52-year-old will not be around forever and is widely expected to leave the club in 2025 when his contract expires.

Meanwhile, the pending investigation into the club’s possible breach of financial fair play laws could see Guardiola leave before then.

But when the former Barcelona player and manager opts to look to leave City, they could have the perfect replacement in Michel Sanchez, who has guided Girona to the top of La Liga this season.

The Spanish team has been the surprise team of the league this season, leading the championship with two points more than Real Madrid and four more than Barcelona.

Even the club’s sporting director, Quique Carcel, thinks Sanchez has all the skills to succeed Guardiola at the Etihad.

“Sanchez has the talent to lead a big club like Manchester City, but he still needs time to get there on this type of bench.”

“City play football that Michel, with a smaller club, is able to do. Although for him to train them, a lot of coordination has to happen, like Pep making the decision to leave,” Carcel told Mundo Deportivo.
