Raphael Varane will be a free agent at the end of this season, according to the terms of his contract.
His current deal expires next summer rather than in a year as previously understood.
Despite the revelation and the fact that he is not starting regularly at Manchester United, not many clubs are expected to be interested in signing him in January.
According to Football Insider, Varane’s options to join a top club in Europe seem limited only because of the £340,000 a week the player earns.
The Red Devils are still open to hearing offers as they are unlikely to extend his stay beyond 2024. Selling him for a bargain fee is better than losing him for nothing.
However, Man United do not expect to receive many offers, except perhaps for the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, the report adds that Varane understands the situation and is willing to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford.
Juventus and Bayern Munich are the two big European teams that have expressed interest in him, but neither is willing to offer the salary that the player earns in Great Britain.
