Legendary Croatian footballer Luka Modric doesn’t stop even at the age of 39 and last night he delivered a game that has Europe buzzing in Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Villarreal.
Real defeated the yellow submarine without any problem this season, while the best match of the season was played by the Croatian veteran.
The experienced midfielder has started the last three games and started three times in just eight days. Although he is 39 years old, this is not a problem for him and he has managed to produce a performance that has not yet been seen in Europe’s strongest leagues this season.
Modric first assisted Jude Bellingham for Real’s lead in the 25th minute (1-0), and later scored the last goal of the match for 4-1 in the 68th minute.
Thus, the Croatian became the first player this season in the strongest European leagues to score a goal and assist, as he is over 38 years old.
As expected, he received the loudest ovation and the whole stadium greeted him with applause and this morning’s editions of the Spanish media spared no compliments for the Croatian veteran.
