French striker Antoine Griezmann, who is Manchester United’s main goal target, has confirmed that he will stay in Madrid.
The Frenchman has made this decision following Atletico’s suspension from UEFA. Aletico can not buy players until January 2018.
“The suspension is already confirmed by the CAS, so I will stay,” Griezmann told Telefoot.
“It was another successful season and I hope we can make good transfers in January,” he added.
“It’s a difficult moment for the club and my friends and it would be a big blow to leave now,” said Griezmann among others.
Griezmann has made 53 appearances for Atletico this season, scoring 26 goals.
