Cristiano Ronaldo is set to stay with Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain .

The Portuguese superstar reportedly wanted to leave Los Blancos after being accused of tax evasion, which was accompanied by underwhelming support from his club.

However, Marca is reporting that following the birth of his surrogate twins, and after seeing club president Florentino Perez step up to support him, the 32-year-old’s anger with Real has subsided and now he’s happy to stay in Madrid.

The report adds that Ronaldo would be given “freedom” to travel between the United States and Madrid to meet his children.

Contrastingly, Mundo Deportivo reported that Ronaldo has denied ever wanting a move away from Real.

After Portugal’s Confederations Cup defeat to Chile, the forward reportedly rang Real Madrid bosses and told them he never wanted to leave the club, and only told national teammates that he was annoyed with the Spanish tax agency.

That reaction was leaked to outlet A Bola, who reported that Ronaldo told teammates he wanted to leave the La Liga club.

The Ballon d’Or winner is set to meet with Perez next week to discuss his future.
