According to a report from AS this afternoon, Spanish giants Real Madrid have included an astounding release clause in the contract of new signing Dani Ceballos.
Ceballos, a highly-regarded 20-year-old midfielder, was the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between Los Blancos and Barcelona over recent weeks, with Atletico Madrid and Juventus having also expressed an interest.
The Real Betis prodigy eventually opted for the Bernabeu though, with Florentino Perez and co. even agreeing to pay 17 million Euro for Ceballos’ services, despite the fact that his buyout clause was set at just 15 million.
And, as per multiple reports in the Spanish press, Real have set a jaw-dropping buyout clause in the youngster’s contract, which is set to tie him down to the club for the next 6 seasons.
The clause is set at 500 million Euro, and is rumoured to be in place specifically to ward off the interest of Barcelona, who have become enamoured with Ceballos following his exploits at the European U21 championships.
