Paris Saint-Germain are heading the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports in France.

It has been claimed the Chile international is ready to leave the Gunners this summer in search of Champions League football next season.

Manchester City are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old, but Arsenal’s reluctance to sell to a direct Premier League rival could scupper their chances.

Bayern Munich have recently pulled out of negotiations due to financial concerns over the costs of a deal, leaving PSG firmly in the driving seat.

And, according to Le Parisien, sporting director Antero Henrique has touched base with Sanchez’s entourage and declared their interest in signing the forward.

The Ligue 1 giants have not been deterred by the Chilean’s wage demands and are reportedly ready to pounce on the Arsenal star, who has just a year left on his current deal at the Emirates.

Although Sanchez is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract, Arsenal are believed to be confident of keeping hold of their prized asset and fending off interest from abroad.
