Leonardo Bonucci was officially presented to the press yesterday when he held a press conference from China alongside Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli. Shortly after the press conference he also talked to assembled media to have a few more words about his move to AC Milan from Juventus.

“That’s how life goes really. Things have a beginning and an end. Something went wrong, my relationship with Juve was weaker and the same goes for them. Changing club was a natural consequence. I have to feel important in order to play at my best. I’ve given a lot to Juve but I’ve also received a lot. Also the best weddings end up with a divorce sometimes.”

“It wasn’t an easy choice for me, but it was the right one. I was not motivated anymore. I’ve had an open relationship with Allegri, I did play many games and that’s why I was an important player for him. I am a direct person, I always tell the truth and I never had any problem with him. Then, of course, some sort of situations happened, everybody has his own responsibilities.”

“We’d had arguments before the away Porto clash [when Bonucci was omitted from the squad due to behavioural issues] but that was the turning point. I did accept the manager’s decisions from that moment but then I took mines. I don’t feel like a traitor. Boos at the Stadium would motivate me.”
