Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo believes his old club will have to sell one of their big-name forwards this summer if they are to seal the transfer of Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.
The 18-year-old attacker has been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu after his sensational form in Ligue 1 last season, when he scored 15 league goals to fire his club to the title.
Rated as one of the most exciting young players in the world, Mbappe has also been chased by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, but Ronaldo believes he’s ideal for Real.
Still, for Madrid to sign him, the Brazilian believes they would surely have to make room for him by allowing one of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema, otherwise known as the ‘BBC’, to leave.
Without naming which of the attacking trio would be in the firing line, Ronaldo claimed that that was the plan of manager Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez this summer.
‘He (Mbappe) is ready for Real,’ Ronaldo told Gazzetta dello Sport. ‘He’s very strong, very very strong.
